The Canon Law Society is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Fr Frank Morrisey O.M.I. Fr Frank died this morning at 9.40am in hospital in Ottawa where he had been receiving palliative cause. His sister, Joan, was with him when he died.
Fr Morrisey has been a dedicated member of the Canon Law Society for many decades, attending our annual conferences as a delegate, speaker and panellist. He was heavily involved in the drafting of the Society's commentary 'Letter and Spirit'. Fr Frank will be remembered by our members as someone who was a great friend of the Society, always willing to share his canonical expertise, and offer advice and support.
Fr Frank was awarded a Life Membership of the Society in recognition of his contribution to the Society and canonical world.
The Society offers prayers and Masses for the repose of Fr Frank's soul, for his family, especially his sister, Joan, and for the many people around the world who will mourn his passing. May the Lord lead him to the joys of eternal glory.
Eternal rest, grant unto him/her O Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
